World Language Education Program

Students enrolled in the World Language Education concentrations take courses both in the School of Languages and Cultures and in the College of Education to complete their degree requirements. Students have the opportunity to immerse themselves in local schools every semester, commencing their teaching experience well before their final semester of student teaching. Upon successful completion of student teaching, PRAXIS exams, and the license application process, teacher candidates become licensed to teach in Indiana, specializing in grades 5-12. This program meets state and national licensure standards and is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and the Indiana State Board of Education.

Students registered in any of the teaching concentration majors can contact the following list of SLC academic mentors for assistance with any language-specific grammar quetions, while creating a language lesson for their education courses, or guidance when doing the student teaching, etc.
